REALISTIC FICTION BOOKS FOR KIDS AND TEENS: A BEGINNER’S GUIDE

Realistic fiction is fiction that has the potential to be real, it consists of characters a setting and and events. The story in a fiction book is made up but it can take place in the real world. The stories tend to reflect real life experiences that people in the real world go through on a daily basis. Kids can relate to the characters in these books. It can also help them see different points of view, different cultures and life styles. The settings of these books take place in the real world in everyday places. The places don’t have to be named the same thing as the actual place, the name is changed a little bit but it is based off of  a real place like a school, a town, or a house. The events in the story depict real world scenarios. It could be about being bullied in school, family or friends issues, or real life struggles, they even discuss more controversial issues in the world.
