Participate biography “Rosa parks picture book”

This book is a biography of Rosa parks, it tells what she went through, and what her story was. Rosa parks was an African American female who had sat on the bus in the “wrong section” she sat in the white person seats because she had a long day and was tired. She refused to get up and from that moment on she made history. She started a movement where is heavily focused on segregation issues, and how all people should be equal. I would use this book to teach kids about biographies, I wouldn’t want to start with a book that doesn’t have any pictures because it might seem very whelming to the students. For the class assignment I would have the students draw pictures of their lives, like a biography but with pictures. I would then have the students write about their pictures explaining about their lives. They wont directly quote their pictures but they would talk about themselves, their families, their interests, etc. The students will be able to use other biographies to help lead them in the right direction as well. The students will get to learn about how everyone has different perspectives and it’s okay to have different interests and family cultures. They can learn about other peoples lives and cultures and get different perspectives, which will help open their minds to new ideas and scenarios.
